Review: Parallel - Claudia Lefeve

Parallel (Travelers, #1)

Review: Parallel - Book #1 Travelers Series - Claudia Lefeve - August 2011

When Etta was a little girl, her parents were killed in a plane crash, and she became an orphan. Shuffled from foster home to foster home, she never had a place to call an actual home. Now at seventeen, she is living in a group home called Dominion. Recently she discovered a guy was looking for her. Cooper Everett has been looking for Etta for a long time now as he is about to open her eyes and mind to a whole new reality as apparently she is needed in her "real reality." A reality that she was hidden away from when she was little to keep her safe. In fact, the reality she has been living, she should never have as in this reality - she died with her parents in the plane crash. It turns out that Etta's father who is a scientist has gone missing and to find him and stop bad things from happening in the future times - Etta is needed in her "real" reality. At first, I wasn't sure how I would find this book, and it was slow, to begin with, but eventually, I found myself drawn into the story and wanting more. Parallel does end on a major cliffhanger too, so now I can't wait to read Book #2 as I was like OMG when they revealed who she is to Cooper. On a personal level, I have always found the idea of alternate realities and parallel universes to be intriguing as it does get you thinking about what "your other life" is like or could be like.
